Mountain boarding, also known as dirtboarding or all-terrain boarding (ATB) , is a well established extreme sport, derived from snowboarding. Riders take to the hills of their local venue. Some may also take advantage of ski resorts. Riding a lift is preferable to walking and the summer lift passes are generally inexpensive. Other accessible terrain includes BMX courses and mountainbike trails. Just add a few jumps and one has themselves a full day of fun.

Kite Landboarding is based on the ever- growing sport of Kitesurfing, where a rider on a surf-style board is pulled over water by a kite. Kite landboarding involves the use of a mountain board or landboard, which is essentially an oversized skateboard with large pneumatic wheels and foot- straps.
