History:

Mike McGill is one of skateboarding's modern legends. He has been a part of the skateboarding scene for over 17 years. He grew up with other great names such as Allan "Ollie" Gelfand, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain and Tony Hawk.

As an early pioneer of vertical skateboaring, Mike was the first one to pull off the 540°, a move named by one of the his earlier team mates Rodney Mullen as the "McTwist".

Mcgill pads are the first, and only pads i have ever worn. Despite their low price tag and modest descriptions, having used them as an over confident beginner, they have been bashed around to the maximum! Despite my incredible breakable bones, with these on i haven\'t suffered any injuries to my knees or elbows. they look better than many of their more expensive rivals, and i can\'t see why you would need any more protection than these give! The wrist guards are simple yet effective. A have a history of broken wrists, seven times within 5 years, yet with these on my wrists remained unscathed! However on the first time of wearing a far more expensive hillbilly wrist guard, i suffered a double fracture to my wirst! Price isn\'t everything! The only down side to them are the straps use to fasten them to your legs. I found the straps to be slightly to lose for my legs, and they can also sometimes come undone while riding. Despite this, the all around leg design that they have(you put your leg into the pad so that there is solid elastic running round the back of your leg) makes up for this to a degree, I believe that these pads offer as much protection as neccesary, and they are one of the cheapest set\'s around.if you are starting out then these are more than adequate!
